Going off road has been forte of the idiosyncratic designer,Shruti Sancheti. First time this unconventional designer took a step ahead to go beyond India and bring some cultural nuance to her collection.

It was her summer holidays in June 2014 when the designer was taken aback in the Turkish Capital of Istanbul by the cross-cultural creative influences been sighted all across the city.

“Till date, all my collections have been about India, but after travelling, I realised that it was time I should go global, and for that, the amalgamation of international design elements was required. My Turkey visit was the first thing that came to mind,” she says.(quoted from Indian Express)

Inspired by the intricacies and fundamentals of Islamic architecture, the collection was showcases modern cuts paired with quintessential handcrafted pieces.

“The city has a modern touch to it, with the very traditional roots in the Muslim community. I was surprised to see such an amalgamation of traditional designs with modern visibility to it. And it was then that I decided to do a collection on the cross-cultural effect the city portrays,” says the 39-year old designer and owner of the label ‘Pinnacle by Shruti Sancheti’.(quoted from Indian Express)

The color palette was chosen keeping the winter colors in concern which had dominance of deep and dark color tones like dark brown, indigo blue, deep purple and burnt orange. The collection varied from trench coats to eccentric denim jackets, culottes, statement wide legged trousers, asymmetric hemlines, pleated pants, capes, maxis, long skirts and crop tops.

Show was closed with the glamorous walk by beautiful Aditi Rao Haidri wearing the key piece of the collection.

Here are few of my favorites from the collection :
